Spiritual Shifts: January

Welcome back to another Spiritual Shifts blog! I did not post one of these in December as I didn't feel like I had as much to update you all on in my spiritual growth in December. December was just a busy month for me between finishing and graduating grad school and then obviously the holidays.

So, with the new year, we are back with Spiritual Shifts! I have been working and practicing a lot so far into the new year and I want to share with you today some of breakthrough practices and exciting (and not exciting) news about my journey.

To start off with, in my first Spiritual Shifts blog I spoke about signing up for Yoga Teacher Training (200-Hour YTT.) I had been thinking about doing it through a local studio, Tribalance, but sadly it didn't work out and their schedule of their program didn't fit with mine. Then I heard about CorePower's program and how many people I knew that I went through it and LOVED it. I started taking some classes at CPY to make sure I enjoyed their classes and style and surprise, I did!

This past Friday, I officially put my deposit down!

I can't wait to start this journey! It's something I wanted to do for over 10 years and I know that I will learn so much mind, body, and soul through this training. It starts at the end of February and goes until the end of April. My graduation day will actually be the day of my first 10K, how aligned is that! As the weeks go along in my YTT, I'm thinking I'll do a week by week blog series! Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in.

The next thing I want to talk about is something I'm not as excited about. I've been interested in Shamanism for a while now and last month, I officially started working with an Elder Shaman. Only three lessons into the course, I realized that it didn't seem like it was a fit for me. I thought it was, but the conversations her and I had back and forth were showing me that perhaps either one of two things. One, the Shamanic path isn't for me. Or two, that perhaps the traditional Shamanic path isn't for me and instead I need to start finding a Shaman from a later generation to work with. I know Shaman Durek does some teachings, and I'd love if he had an event or class some day that I can take part in. I connect with what he's saying and speaks about deeply when it comes to the Shamanic practice.

It was sad because it was something I was so excited to became a warrior and practitioner in, but perhaps she wasn't the right person to teach me the Shamanic ways. It doesn't mean I will give up completely on these learnings, it just means that for now I'm going to focus on other avenues and maybe one day I'll find that right Shaman to learn from.

I have been getting WAY into alignment work recently. My boss babe business mentor hosted a Align + Flow week a few weeks ago and that really helped me tap into how I feel mind, body, and soul when I'm in alignment. Since then I've taken the past few weeks to journal, meditate, chant, open up and see where I really am and want to be. To get in alignment with my goals and visions and with where I am currently. I think it's been helping a lot and helping me to see very clearly the things that are not serving me.

Aligning yourself will help you up-level your game SERIOUSLY. I will be working more alignment work into my daily practice more and more. I knew it was important, but I don't think I ever realized just how important being full in alignment with yourself could really clarify so many things.

The last thing I want to talk about today is astrology. For those of you who follow me on social media, you've probably noticed by posts recently talking about astrology and my interest in it. I know that it's something that's supposed to come into my business, but at the current moment I'm just not sure how. I've been reading some books, articles, chatting with people experience in the field and so on about learning more. Learning to read birth charts, learning about the signs (sun, moon, ascending/rising) and what the hell all of that means. I have been learning about Saturn's Return and what it is all about since I am going into my 28th year which is when one's first Saturn's Return starts.

I am so excited about this astrological journey. It is something I have been interested in for a while, but never realized the vast amount of information that it encompassed. I can't wait to share more with you guys and see where it takes me in my business.

This months Spiritual Shifts may be a little shorter, but I feel there is some HUGE shifts going on internally for me right now that will be coming to fruition for me soon and I can't wait to share those with you (hopefully) by next month!
